The People of
Not Dead Yet

Meet the friends, families, foils and occasional pains in the ass who make up Elliot Kelman’s world.

Coffee, opinions and absolutely no filter.

The Breakfast Club

Elliot may be the newcomer, but he quickly finds himself at the center of a fiercely opinionated circle of Hamptons locals. There is Cy, the surfer and artist; Paulette, an actress who refuses to accept that the phone has stopped ringing; Mike, blunt, stubborn and impossible to ignore; Ned, a jazz disc jockey fighting to stay on the air; and Claudja, stylish, independent and very much her own person. Together, they argue, insult one another, hatch ideas and eventually become something resembling a team.

Critics. Skeptics. Magenta enthusiasts.

The Haters

Not everyone is ready to believe Elliot and his friends still have something to prove. There are younger ad people who think experience is another word for obsolete, clients convinced they know better, managers worried about the brand, and at least one art lover with very strong opinions about magenta. Some dismiss them. Some underestimate them. A few eventually learn better.

No decks. No jargon. Just show him the damn ad!

The Client

Thorlo Ad.png

Johnson Thorlo  (Toby Huss) is the old-school patriarch behind Thorlo Socks, a client with little patience for advertising jargon and even less interest in being told what he is supposed to like. When Elliot and Cy arrive with an unconventional idea, Johnson cuts through the pitch, trusts his own instincts, and proves to be considerably harder to predict than anyone in the room expects.

They know him better than anyone.

Elliot's Family

Behind every grand second act is a family wondering what, exactly, he is doing now. Gina has spent decades living with Elliot’s enthusiasms, Nick has inherited both his creativity and his impatience, and the next generation provides its own brutally honest perspective. They love him, challenge him and occasionally wonder whether he has finally lost his mind.
